Wingman needed ASAP

Last semester I joined IWA (Institute Woman’s Association)- Deseret Chapter.  I have one of the best chapters ever, I’m not bias’s either! The girls are so sweet and wonderful to me and have become some good friends!  Every Wednesday night we get together and do something as a group!  Last week we each brought things in that “our hearts delight in”.  I brought in a picture of, me and Carson, orbit spearmint gum, and a picture of my family!  After we went out and got Aggie Ice Cream, YUM; I got Aggie Blue Mint!!
Anyhow, last semester I was asked to be the 2nd councilors in my chapter’s presidency; I accepted of course!  Well if you are interested to know, the 2nd councilors are over the dances that the IWA puts on.  YEAHH!!! If you know me, I could careless for dances.  I would rather go out and play Frisbee, watch basketball game or just play games in general.
I would like to make 3 exceptions:
1. I like organized dances such as, going to a swing club.  I know what I’m suppose to be doing out on the dance floor.
2. I also don’t mind dances, too much, if my girlfriends make me go.  When you are with your girls you can just dance and move and WHO CARES!
3. If you are going to the dance with a boyfriend or such.

So this is my problem… I asked the one guy I felt comfortable enough to go with to the dance, and said he was already going with someone else L LAME SAUCE
Now I have to make some choices:
1.     Ask some random guy (Or NOT)
2.     Go stag
3.     FIND a WINGMAN
4.   BAIL *(too bad I can’t its my calling to be there)
The only problem is #3 is a very good option, but I doubt I could get any girlfriend to come to Logan this Friday.  It doesn’t help pretty much all my girlfriends live out-a-state …
Well, I’ll let you know what happens…
((If you think up any brilliant ideas let me know!!!))

He's been there

I heard this quote the other day and I really enjoyed it.  On night last semester I was having a really hard day, so I called my mom up to talk.  I was telling my mom how hard i felt my situation was and she just didn't understanding.  I finally just got off the phone with her because it just made me so mad, and as I was crying in my bed I heard a voice say " Jesus understands".  Its so true, he understands exactly how i felt, he has walked my path.  It was a reminder that we can always turn to our older brother Jesus Christ!

This is sister Cheiko Okazawki - former RS General President- from her book "Lighten Up"

"We know that on some level Jesus experienced the totality of mortal existence in Gethsemane. It's our faith that he experienced everything- absolutely everything. Sometimes we don't think through the implications of that belief. We talk in great generalities about the sins of all humankind, about the suffering of the entire human family. But we do not experience pain in generalities. We experience it individually. That mean Jesus know what it felt like when your mother died of cancer- how it was for your mother, how it still is for you. He knows what it felt like to lose the student body election. He knows that moment when the brakes locked, and the car started to skid. He experienced the slave ship sailing from Ghana toward Virgina and the gas chambers of Dachau. He experienced napalm in Vietnam. He knows about drug addiction and alcoholism.
There is nothing you have experienced as a woman that he dose not also know and recognize. On a profound level, he understands about pregnancy and giving birth. He knows about PMS and cramps and menopause. He understands about rape and infertility and abortion.
His last recorded word to his disciples were, "And, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:20) What dose that mean? It means he understands your mother-pain when your five-year-old leaves for kindergarten, when a bully picks on your fifth-grader, when your daughter calls to say that the new baby has Downs syndrome. He knows your mother-rage when a trusted babysitter sexually abuses your two-year-old, when someone give  your thirteen-year-old drugs, when someone seduce your seventeen-year-old. He knows the pain you live with when you come home to a quite apartment where the only children who ever come re visitors, when you learn your former husband and his new wife were sealed in the temple last week, when your fiftieth wedding anniversary rolls around and your husband has been dead for two years. He knows all of that. He's been there. He's been lower than that."

Simplicity is Beautiful

The morning clouds were so beautiful as I was walking up the hill to campus this morning. They gave me strength to keep pushing on and reminded me that I can do anything I put my mind too. My day was stressful and a bit overwhelming, there were moments I felt sad and alone and all I wanted to do was scream… I pushed through. I went to my 6:30 Yoga class in the hopes it would clear my mind and relax me. As I was walking to my car after yoga I had one of the most enriching experiences… All I felt was happiness resonating inside of me. The air was crisp and cold but to me it felt warm and comforting; I felt as if I was nestled in safe arms on a summer night. The walk that seem to take forever on cold days like today, ended all too fast. I wanted more time to take in everything I was experiencing and feeling… I’m thankful for the simple lessons God teaches us in a single moment. “The gospel of Jesus Christ is beautifully simple and simply beautiful.” I’m thankful for such a beautiful world to live! I know God is always watching out for each of his children because of this experience!

HOME and LOVING IT!

MOST OF THE TIME!!

Well I got out of school July 23 and I travel across the country with my sister! We had a lot of fun! I cried as I watched Idaho drift into the distance through my rear view mirror! I've now lived in Idaho 2years and I can officially say I love Idaho... Better yet, I love Rexburg! There is just something really special about living in Rexburg and attending a Church School! I have meet and made so many friends that are so cool!

Driving away from Rexburg,ID was just the start of some of my new adventures! It was an experience driving across the country being the only driver. Kate was with me but, she would fall asleep when I needed her the most. It was funny so I would pull off at a rest area to sleep, and she would wake up and tell me she couldn't sleep if the car wasn't moving! I told her she would need to find something to do cause her driver was pooped!! I discovered that I do not do well driving in the mornings. I'm more of a afternoon/night driver! This year has been fun because I have been able to reach out and really start to form relationships with my extended family that I never really knew too well. So coming across the plains I stopped and stayed with my cousins in Indianapolis, they were so good to us! They have the cutest little family too! We made it home in record time though if you ask ME!
I have got to love my friends though.... The first or second night I got back they toilet papered my house! THANKS! still to this day I'm not sure who it was! I may never know!
Who ever it was had a great arm cause they got it pretty darn far up in my tree, I had to wait for the wind to blow it down! They did leave a lot of extra on the ends of the rolls so now when I get the urge to do it to someone else I have a stash of toilet paper up in my closet... Or ill just save it until I go back to school, then i wont have to buy any!!

The end of AUG I went to Holden Beach,NC with my family and some of our friends! We rented a house right on the water, it was beautiful! We spent 10days there and that was enough time to work up a tan!

I also had fun practicing photography on my sisters! We did a little photo shoot I don't think I did to bad!?! I"ll leave that up to you though!
(2 of the boys I watch, the one on the left has a twin sister and they have a new born baby sister as well! They are the cutest family ever!)
I now work a very busy week! I babysit for 5 different families, work at an office and once an a while pick up shifts at the gym! I stay busy for sure working 8-10hour days! I love it!

I have two callings in my ward: Sacrament Meeting Greeter and I'm on the activities committee! I love getting to church early and greet people, its a great way to get to know those you don't know yet! Surprisingly I really miss teaching Relief society on the fourth Sundays though! I thought that was going to be the end of my life when I accepted that teaching calling! Lol ask my mom, I was hysterically crying on the phone to her about teaching, until I actually taught for the first time! Then I was fine because I did pretty good! It was a teaching experience for sure!

My favorite time of the week is Thursday nights when I get to go to institute and be spiritually feed and then after play ULTIMATE FRISBEE!!

JUST SOME PICTURES for this past summer!

Do i make you Proud?!

The last couple of days have been kind of hard. I’m not sure if it has just been lack of sleep and not feeling my best but I have just felt like I’ve been in the way. I feel like my friends are sick of me being around, my mom never calls (she is busy I know) and when I call her she doesn’t have time, and anybody else I call except for Carson simply never has time to talk to me. Sometimes I don’t feel like they understand how hard it can be living so far away from home and everyone that they love. Sometimes a phone call just letting me know they are thinking about me or let me just talk about life can really make my day or week. A few weeks ago I went to church with aunt Delma and uncle Larry in Idaho Falls. There was this family that sat in front of me, and it really hit me how much joy this women’s kids bring into her life. It made me think of how I can’t wait to have my own kids and the joy they will bring me. It scared me though cause I know how hard I was to raise that I really hope I brought joy into my parents life especially my moms. Think about the past, all I can see is he hardships I brought into my moms life. I know I was not easy but I hope I was not always trouble and brought her some happiness. Even now I have felt like all I am is still just a burden. I love my Parents so much and they do so much for me. I really am trying my hardest to be the best daughter and sister I can be, since I cant change the past and the things I have done. I guess my biggest wish and hope is that I brought some happiness and joy into my family’s life. I have a very special spot in my heart for parent/ Child relationships and the relationship siblings have with one another. I miss my family so much and love them so dearly. I’m so glad I was placed in their loving care, I know Heavenly Father has blessed me so much just by looking at my family.

Spring Class Registraton

Tuesday I registered for spring semester classes! It well for the most part. I got into all the classes that I was hoping to except for photography, the one I really need. The classes I’m taking are Drawing 1, Intro Graphic Design, Art History 1, US since 1877, Art Seminar, and Explore Photo. If I feel like this to much I will drop Explore Photo and taking Teaching of the Living Prophets, plus Explore photo is not going towards a general but Teaching of living Prophets would. I hope I can still get into photography one but we will see. I’m thinking its going to be a busy busy semester especially with working Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. I would not trade working for the world though. Working is one of the best things I can do for myself while going to school. It’s set aside time I don’t have to think about school and just have fun with those I work with and take a break from always thinking about doing homework. Even thought working on grounds crew for the school and trimming trees and landscaping does not sound like much of a break, it really is. At least a mental one! I love my job and my crew and supervisor!

Last Week

Last weekend I ended up going to the hot springs with a bunch of friends. There were at least 20 of us. We went to Green Canyon Hot Springs about 30 miles NE from Rexburg. It was a BLAST. I swear I have not had that much fun in a long time. That night Chris,a good friend, and I went and spent some time at the Idaho Falls visitor Center. I have been wanting to watch the Joseph Smith movie for a while now and so I was hoping to see it. By the time we got there at 8pm we did not have enough time to watch it before the visitor center closed. I’m almost glad that we did not get to watch it because we had such a good conversation about the gospel, life, goals, fears, where we see our self in 5 years etc. It was a really sweet, fun experience. Someday I’ll get back down there and see the Joseph Smith movie!! I love the temple I would not trade a temple marriage for anything in this world.

Two weeks ago my car started acting totally weird. It freaked me out so bad, I can’t even imagine life with out having my car to drive. It sounds so sad how dependent we are on our vehicles. So after talking to several different people and friends I figured that It was just my tire balance that was off in the car. So last Saturday I woke up early to take my car in and I was about to leave when a girl made me aware of a flat tire I had on the front right tire. I cry! I had never changed a tire in my life. Who was I going to call and help me fix my tire on a Saturday morning at 7:45? I called and woke Chris up cause I knew he would help me and he lives just across the street. He was so sweet and just rolled out of bed to help me! I think I can change me tire NOW after watching him do it!! I made it to the car shop and fixed it all up and now Eva works just fine! I never understood people that said they just loved their cars and became attached to them, but now I do. Cause I’m pretty attached to mine now. She may be old but she get the job done!! I’m very thankful for good friends that are always there!!
